The new ‘Australian Aged Care Collaboration’ alliance is today launching a campaign to encourage Federal Parliament to address the sector’s many challenges. Home-care packages, which allow older people to stay in their homes and communities, are becoming more and more effective and popular. The government has funded an extra 10,000 of these packages a year over the last 3 years but there are calls for more. Sean Rooney is the CEO of Leading Aged Services Australia, he spoke with ABC NewsRadio’s Thomas Oriti.
