Event Recording: How will political parties care about aged care?

The federal election has officially been called for May 21st.

We need to keep aged care on the agenda and make sure that older Australians get the care they deserve, once and for all.

We invited the following representatives of each major political party to speak to you, tell us why they care, and outline what they will do to improve the system.

  • The Coalition government Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services Senator Richard Colbeck
  • Shadow Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services Clare O’Neil; and
  • Senator Janet Rice the Greens’ spokesperson for Ageing and Community Services.

All of us should be able to get quality care, with dignity, when we need it. Whoever forms the next government will need to ensure major reforms are implemented as soon as possible to fulfil every older Australian’s right to high quality care.
